Supermarket chain Dirk van den Broek to open new store in Zijdelwaard in Uithoorn

Real estate investor Altera, on behalf of the Altera Retail Fund, has reached agreement with supermarket chain Dirk van den Broek to open a new supermarket in the Zijdelwaard shopping centre in Uithoorn. The new location offers a modern and sustainable store concept tailored to meet the preferences of today’s consumer. This transaction means that Zijdelwaard is now nearly fully leased.

Brian van Amerongen, Asset Manager Retail at Altera: “This new supermarket will further enhance the shopping centre’s appeal. Aside from full-service supermarkets, the indoor shopping centre also hosts multiple fresh produce stores, a pharmacy and hospitality venues, making it a one-stop destination for daily shopping needs.

The store will open its doors at the start of September and will have a prominent location in the shopping centre. The shopping centre is easy to reach for pedestrians and cyclists alike, and features covered  bicycle parking and ample car parking spaces.

This addition underscores Altera’s long-term vision for the fund: investing in essential, sustainable local shopping centres that contribute to viable neighbourhoods and strong local communities.
