About Altera
History
Founded in 2000, Altera is the result of the merging of two real estate portfolios: Hoogovens Pension Fund and KLM Pension Funds. From the outset, we’ve upheld a transparent, efficient structure, allowing investors to enjoy the benefits of real estate investment under the active management of a reliable and stable professional organisation.
In 2017, we fine-tuned our strategy focus. We operate in two sectors – residential and retail – in primarily urban areas in the Netherlands. We have clear criteria concerning the desired structure of our portfolios and acquisitions.
In 2025, Altera managed around €3.2 billion in assets under management, across both the residential and retail real estate sectors.

Our goal is to offer investors access to a transparent, diversified Dutch real estate portfolio with the benefits of both direct and indirect real estate investments. Guided by our core values of being transparancy, commitment and reliability, Altera places stakeholder interests at the forefront of all decisions and avoids any conflicts of interest.
