Reduction of CO₂ emissions and energy savings for Altera Retail Fund in 2024

Real estate investor Altera, representing the Altera Residential Fund, has taken delivery from Stebru of 54 rental apartments and 43 parking spaces as part of the De Zaanse Helden project. All the apartments have been let and the tenants have received their keys. The two-room or three-room apartments in this residential block have a surface area of 51 to 62 m², in addition to an ample terrace or balcony.
The entire project consists of 10 residential buildings with 607 apartments (private sector rental, social rental and owner-occupied) and a commercial space, developed by Stebru and Focus on Impact. In Phase 2, Altera is set to receive a further 71 private sector rental apartments and 63 parking spaces, completing the full delivery of Altera’s 356 apartments (and 323 parking spaces) in the project.
Altera CIO Erwin Wessels: “We are delighted to welcome our tenants to the sustainable homes in De Zaanse Helden, which offers an ideal living environment for families, seniors and first-time buyers. This project exemplifies Altera’s future-proof residential portfolio, combining quality, sustainability and living comfort.”
Sustainable living
The project has a low EPC of 0.2 and includes photovoltaic (PV) panels and a thermal energy storage system. Residents have access to a large communal garden on the roof of the car park (level +1). This communal, nature-inclusive rooftop garden, designed by LOLA Landscape Architects and Deltavormgroep, will ensure social cohesion and provide a sense of connection with the adjacent Molenpark, the buildings of De Zaanse Helden and the neighbouring Burano complex. It will be a place where the city and the natural world come together, where residents and neighbours meet.
The properties are managed by Schep Vastgoedmanagers on behalf of Altera. Wooove is responsible for handing all rental operations.
