Real estate investor Altera Vastgoed NV (hereinafter: Altera) has once again achieved the highest possible score in the annual UN sustainability benchmark Principles for Responsible Investment (hereinafter: UN PRI). This year, Altera was awarded five stars by UN PRI for the applicable modules ‘Policy, Governance & Strategy’, ‘Direct – Real Estate’ and ‘Confidence-building Measures’.
Altera’s ESG strategy is geared towards achieving Paris Proof Portfolios by 2040, increasing the climate resilience of buildings and ensuring that its portfolios make a positive contribution to society. These objectives are realised through an efficient and effective management platform that has integrated ESG into key processes and transparent reporting. UN PRI reviews the progress of this strategy on an annual basis.
Altera CEO
Jaap van der Bijl
explains the benefits: ‘We have participated in the benchmark since 2017, when we signed up to UN PRI’s Principles of Responsible Investment. The result is greater transparency for our stakeholders: thanks to our participation, they have access to uniform and consistent information that helps them understand the results achieved and progress made towards the goals we have set. In addition to the results achieved in the GRESB benchmark, this underlines our ongoing commitment to sustainability in the field of responsible investment.’
Rudy Verstappen
, Team Lead ESG Altera, agrees: ‘This recognition shows that Altera remains committed to further improving the sustainability of its portfolios and increasing its transparency to stakeholders.’
About UN PRI
UN PRI is a partnership between the UNEP Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact. One of the key components of this partnership is a globally leading and fully independent benchmark for responsible investment. Established in 2005, the network aims to improve understanding of the investment implications of ESG factors, and to support PRI signatories in integrating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions. Signatories contribute to the ongoing development of a more sustainable and transparent financial system and responsible investment guidelines.
