Altera publishes 2025 Annual Reports on its website
| Real estate investor Altera, on behalf of the Altera Retail Fund, has further expanded its retail portfolio with the purchase of the Rijkerswoerd neighbourhood shopping centre in Arnhem.
Covering around 6,200 m², the shopping centre comprises 20 separate units. There is free parking around the shopping centre on municipal land, with all parking spaces located at ground level and publicly accessible. Besides the Jumbo and Aldi supermarkets, Rijkerswoerd offers a varied range of everyday shops and services, including a bakery, butcher, drugstore, liquor store, hospitality venues and certain care-related services.Originally built in 1997, the complex was renovated and modernised in 2023. This refurbishment was an investment in both appearance and sustainability: new shopfronts and greenery were installed and solar panels were put on the roof. Altera’s CEO, Jaap van der Bijl, highlights the importance of the purchase: “The acquisition of the Rijkerswoerd shopping centre fits our strategy perfectly: we invest in sustainable, future-proof shopping centres that play an important role in meeting the everyday needs of the neighbourhood. Convenience retail delivers stable returns, is less affected by the rise of e-commerce and boosts social cohesion in the neighbourhood.” |
The vendor was advised on the commercial aspects of the transaction by BRIKKS. Altera received legal advice on this acquisition from Dentons.
