Rejoes opens new store at Marktstraat in ’s-Hertogenbosch
On behalf of the Altera Retail Fund, real estate investor Altera has signed the purchase agreement for the sale of the Sint Jorisplein shopping centre and underground car park in Amersfoort. The deal was finalised at Altera’s stand at the PROVADA real estate fair.
Located in the historic heart of Amersfoort, the Sint Jorisplein shopping centre is the perfect place to start a day of shopping. With plenty of parking space in the underground Q-Park car park, it spans an area of over 16,700 m² and comprises more than 30 retail units of varying sizes. The complex is home to a number of renowned national and international tenants, including H&M, The Sting, Scapino, C&A, Sissy-Boy, Intertoys and, as of 1 August, Mango.
Due to the scarcity of large retail units in the city centre of Amersfoort, Sint Jorisplein is a particularly attractive location for these types of tenants.
The car park below the shopping centre has 448 parking spaces and is on long-term lease to Q-Park. Offering charging stations for electric cars and facilities for future shared mobility initiatives, it is a vital link in the city centre’s mobility infrastructure.

The sale of Sint Jorisplein is consistent with our strategy to phase out non-strategic properties and prioritise the acquisition of neighbourhood shopping centres and supermarkets.”
Recently, Altera also acquired the Fenikshof convenience centre in Nijmegen, as well as Rijkerswoerd district shopping centre in Arnhem. With the sale of Sint Jorisplein, the portfolio now comprises 99% convenience retail. This segment is characterised by stability, higher direct returns and relatively low sensitivity to e-commerce and economic fluctuations, making it ideally suited to institutional investors.
During the sale, Altera was advised by BRIKKS and 3stone Real Estate, with Dentons providing legal assistance. The buyer, Meerdervoort, was advised by McDevitt, and Orange IM by KroesePaternotte.
